3 Weeks of Prayer

“Revelation Prayers”

“Revelation Prayers” will delve into the letters to the churches in Revelation. Each letter provides unique insights into the strengths and weaknesses of early Christian communities, offering us valuable lessons on how to be a church that thrives in faith, love, and obedience to Christ.

  • Ephesus - Returning to Our First Love

    Revelation 2:1-7

The church in Ephesus was known for its strong work ethic and perseverance. They were diligent in rejecting false apostles and maintained doctrinal purity. However, they were reprimanded for losing their initial love and passion for Christ. This church was urged to remember their former devotion, repent, and return to their first works. Ephesus was a significant city, both economically and religiously, home to the temple of Artemis. The Ephesian believers faced constant pressure to conform to the surrounding pagan culture, making their steadfastness commendable. Nevertheless, their hearts had grown cold, focusing more on orthodoxy than their relationship with Jesus.

  • Pergamum - Holding Fast to the Truth

    Revelation 2:12-17

Pergamum was a city renowned for its cultural and political significance, with a strong presence of emperor worship and numerous pagan cults. The church in Pergamum was praised for holding fast to Jesus' name and not denying their faith, even while living in a place referred to as "where Satan has his throne." This likely alludes to the intense pagan practices and emperor worship. However, the church faced criticism for tolerating the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans, which led to idolatry and sexual immorality. They were called to repent and remove these influences to avoid Christ's judgment.

  • Laodicea - Renewing Our Zeal

    Revelation 3:14-22

Laodicea was a wealthy city, known for its banking industry, textile production, and a famous medical school producing eye salve. The church in Laodicea mirrored the city's wealth but was spiritually lukewarm, neither hot nor cold. This tepid state made them spiritually complacent and self-sufficient, failing to recognize their true spiritual poverty. Jesus counseled them to buy from Him gold refined by fire, white garments to cover their shame, and salve to heal their spiritual blindness. The church was sternly warned to repent from their lukewarmness and to be zealous in their faith.

Encounter Nights

We long to see manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and we want to continue to make room and create rhythms in our life/culture that will foster that! So as part of 3 Weeks of Prayer, we are introducing ENCOUNTER NIGHTS. These nights are a place to  freely worship God, pray for each other, exercise the gifts of the Spirit in a non threatening environment as we grow together! They will look very similar to our Wednesday night mid week prayer gatherings! So if you have enjoyed that, please join us!
