Kids at Hope Hornby

Haere mai!

We want to see kids belonging to a strong and nurturing faith community where they can participate in our worship life together and come to know and experience a loving God. We are all about helping families with children to form a growing and lasting faith through our fun Bible based teaching, our worship practices, key events and celebrations, family friendly services and programmes, resources for parents and supports for family life.

Being intergenerational is a key value so we seek to engage all generations in the life of the church. During services we have spaces for families with young children (family area) as well as a parent’s room for those nursing little ones. All ages participate in communion, baptisms and dedications and we hold regular All-Age Services.

Sundays

Hope Kids Church (Years 1-6)

After being in the main service for some time we move out and gather our school-aged children together in the Reima Centre. We have community time, games, songs, stories, craft and activities. Our lesson plans follow the preaching series of the church. Our leaders are dedicated, and we ensure that safety is paramount for everyone.

Parents are required to sign in their children at the Hope Kids table before the services begin and will need to collect and sign them out at the end of the service.

Creche (Ages 0-5)

The creche is found in the lounge across from the auditorium. It is staffed after community time at the morning services. Enter through the safety gates and sign in your children on the form provided. We enjoy mat time with a Bible story and a small snack. At the end of the service, come and collect your children and sign them out before you leave.

For those with young babies, a parent room is available for feeding, changing or quieting your baby. You will find the room opposite the creche. A speaker system is available inside so caregivers can continue to hear the service.
